Cowcreek JR Cowhorse bit (Steel Chain Bit with Copper Rings)
The CowCreek JR Cowhorse bit is a great step up from an O Ring for young horses, re-schooling or going back to a softer bit with educated horses. It is designed to encourage a horse to break at the poll for a more natural collection and encourages lateral bend.
The mouthpiece is a steel chain with 3 copper rings. The chain conforms to the horses tongue with pressure applied to the corners of the mouth. The small copper rings encourages the horse to relax and salivate for a softer mouth.
This bit should be adjusted to fit with one wrinkle in the horse's mouth and a loose curb strap to allow 2-3 fingers. Like any bit this bit can be harsh in the wrong hands, soft hands are required. This is for advanced riders only.
