Cowcreek JR Cowhorse bit (Sweet Iron with Copper Roller)
The CowCreek JR Cowhorse bit is a great step up from an O Ring for young horses, re-schooling or going back to a softer bit with educated horses. It is designed to encourage a horse to break at the poll for a more natural collection and encourages lateral bend.
The mouthpiece is a 3-Piece sweet iron with copper roller mouthpiece. The three piece mouthpiece creates more of a U shape instead of a V making it more gentle then a single joined mouthpiece. Pressure is distributed across the tongue and allows the bit to work on the outside corner bars. The small copper roller encourages the horse to relax and salivate, while the sweet iron increases salivation for a softer mouth.
This bit should be adjusted to fit with one wrinkle in the horse's mouth and a loose curb strap to allow 2-3 fingers.
