CowCreek Medium Set Back Shank Bit

The CowCreek Medium Set Back Shank Bit bit has a slightly longer shank than the standard Jnr Cowhorse with a set back curb strap. It is designed to encourage a horse to break at the poll for a more natural collection and encourages lateral bend. The set back curb ring will delay the curb action and aide in keeping the horse square. 

We like to adjust this bit to fit with one wrinkle in the horse's mouth and a loose curb strap to allow 2-3 fingers.

Cheek(from top to bottom): 7.5" inches

Shank(mouthpiece to rein ring): 3.5" inches

Purchase(mouthpiece to bridle ring): 2.5" inches 

Sweet Iron with Copper Roller Mouthpiece- The mouthpiece is a 3-Piece sweet iron with copper roller mouthpiece. The three piece mouthpiece creates more of a U shape instead of a V making it more gentle then a single joined mouthpiece. Pressure is distributed across the tongue and allows the bit to work on the outside corner bars. The small copper roller encourages the horse to relax and salivate, while the sweet iron increases salivation for a softer mouth.

Sweet Iron Slow Square Twist with Copper Roller-The sweet iron is designed to rust over time, which creates a sweeter taste and encourages acceptance of the bit, together with salivation for dry mouthed horses.
